What Delivery Proof Should an Online Seller Keep?
A seller should keep evidence that identifies the order, condition of the item before dispatch, dispatch details, delivery destination, carrier or rider information, delivery event and buyer confirmation where available.

Identify the order
Link the delivery evidence to the agreed item, quantity, buyer, order reference and delivery address without exposing unnecessary private information.
Record condition before dispatch
Photograph or video the item, packaging, serial or distinguishing details and included parts when those details matter to the order.
Keep dispatch details
Record the dispatch date, carrier or rider, tracking or waybill reference, destination and any agreed delivery charge.
Confirm the delivery event
Keep the carrier update, delivery timestamp, recipient or handover detail and buyer message or confirmation where available. A carrier scan may show movement without proving the item was accepted in the agreed condition.
